Magic Recall is a bullet hell that meshes iterative attack mechanics with large scale enemy hordes to create an exciting wave-survival experience. This prototype was created in two weeks by a team of six, consisting of myself and two other engineers, an artist, technical artist, and producer.

Development

Developing Magic Recall was an amazing experience. For most of the members on our team, it was one of the first steps into game development, and by the end of it we were proud of what we were able to produce.

With the exception of one of our engineers, we were all unfamiliar with the engine with which we'd chosen to develop. MonoGame was something unlike anything I'd work with before, but the more I implemented mechanics and art assets, the better I got. By the end of the project, I learned more about MonoGame but also the structure of game frameworks and mechanics themselves.
